No Caption A burn ban is now in effect for twelve Alabama counties that will last until October, per the Alabama Department of Environmental Management

Seven Hills Fire District, May 01

The ban, designed to protect air quality, includes Baldwin, DeKalb, Etowah, Jefferson, Lawrence, Madison, Mobile, Montgomery, Morgan, Shelby, Russell, and Talladega counties.

Some agricultural and silvicultural burning is allowed in these counties but requires prior approval from ADEM and the Alabama Forestry Commission.

🚨🔥 Busy Afternoon for Seven Hills Fire & Surrounding Depts

Yesterday afternoon was nothing short of eventful for Seven Hills Fire District and our neighboring departments. Between 1:30 and 4:00 PM, our crews responded to over seven calls for lightning strikes, outside fires, and residential fires, which were mostly caused by the severe weather passing through.

Seven Hills Fire District had the privilege of being invited, along with Jackson County Fire Protection , to G&D Farm, Feed & Outdoors for a grain bin/elevator heavy rescue training class on Thursday evening

During the training, Firefighter Lane Cook played the role of a “victim” in an unfortunate grain entrapment scenario. Training Officers Morris Altice and Daniel Justice proceeded with the team with a rescue using a 6-piece aluminum, 30-inch KC Grain Bin Rescue Tube.
