Immediately following this announcement, a few firefighters immediately resigned in protest from the department, by returning their fire gear & radio equipment.

Retired Fire Chief Paul Newton has accepted the temporary appointment of Interim Fire Chief for Seven Hills FD until qualified candidates for Fire Chief can be interviewed by the Board of Trustees. Several former firefighters and fire-medics have expressed interest in returning to Seven Hills Fire District, with three individuals presently working through the application process.

Please know that emergency fire services within the Seven Hills community will continue to be provided by members of SHFD, with occasional mutual aid support provided by surrounding fire departments, when needed: Mobile Fire Rescue, Tanner Williams FD, and Grand Bay FD.

Mobile County Emergency Medical Services will continue to be the primary response agency for emergency medical calls, with adjunct response and support from Seven Hills.
