Today, we honor the brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe. On this day, we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and thank those who continue to serve with dedication and bravery.
The history of International Firefighter's Day dates back to 1999, when five firefighters lost their lives while battling a wildfire in Australia. To honor their sacrifice, a group of Australian firefighters created this day to recognize the contributions and sacrifices made by firefighters worldwide.
At Seven Hills Fire District, we are proud to serve our community and stand in solidarity with firefighters around the world. Thank you for your support and appreciation for our firefighters today and every day!
